Seniors on ODSP are not given enough money for rent.

It is hard to find a place to live when your disabiled and your social services office and realestate Market is refusing to listen to what seniors are reduced to live on and are having a hard time finding a place even rooms are to expensive to live. It has been just horrible what single senior woman are reduced to put up with by landlords.. Stealing and sexual assault in Barrie Ontario. ODSP office refuse to assist crippled and disablied people playing hard ball so woman are homeless and on the street so no one will listen to there plea for help. Painting a picture that seniors are lazy and do not want to work is wrong. I am disabled and a senior and I have put my name in may places for work over 200 resume have been followed up on and I have even enrolled in programs with the ODSP office to find me work with my disability and that was a complete humiliation and frustrating as they wanted me to subidize them paying for transportation cost that I could not afford but used my little saving to live in hopes of soon finding work and running out of that now and borrowing money to get to interview and find work that refuse to hire woman on ODSP working with my disability only opening up doors to discrimination refusing me work. Unbelievable what I have had to deal with in Barrie between housing not affordable and work that is part time and low income so even if I found work it would not be enough to live in a apartment as it is to expensive the apartment buildings in Barrie. Reduced to looking for rooming houses that are not licensed and are irresponsible bi law department run by children that are not enforcing any laws enough as these office tell me that they do not have enough people working to enforce and regulate all the illegal units in Barrie as there is just to many of them. Single woman are subjected to rape and sexual assult by landlords that rent rooms and I have even been forced to move for the homes of owner being threaten by owing money to someone and hit men threating to kill the owner of the home. Owner a Jamacian man that owed money he said and I was forced to move in two days and because this home was a private home the landlord and tenant would not hear a case against the landlord so I am out of luck fighting it with the landlord and tentant to get moving cost. Wrong that single senior woman are not given any choices to live as geared to income housing is doing little to assist as the waiting lists are so six years. I need a affordable place to live because I have to eat. I can not live on no money.
